What Are the Effects of Delta 8 THC?

Delta-8 and delta-9 THC have similar molecular structures, but are not exactly the same. Delta-8 has a different structure, which can produce milder effects than delta-9 THC. However, more research is needed to better understand the effects of Delta-8.The FDA is aware of the growing concern surrounding delta-8 products with THC that are currently sold online and in stores. These products have not been evaluated or approved by the FDA for safe use in any context.

Some concerns include variability in product formulations and labeling, other cannabinoid and terpene contents, and varying concentrations of THC delta-8. In addition, some of these products may simply be labeled as “hemp products”, which may mislead consumers who associate “hemp” with “non-psychoactive products”. Delta-8 THC has psychoactive and intoxicating effects, similar to delta-9 THC (i.e. marijuana).

The FDA is aware of media reports on products containing THC delta-8 that they “place”. The FDA is also concerned that products with THC delta-8 may expose consumers to much higher levels of the substance than those found naturally in raw hemp and cannabis extracts. Therefore, the historical use of cannabis cannot be relied upon to establish a level of safety for these products in humans. The FDA is actively working with federal and state partners to further address concerns related to these products and to monitor the market for complaints about products, adverse events, and other emerging cannabis-derived products that may be a cause for concern.

The American Association of Poison Control Centers (AAPCC) maintains the National Poison Data System (NPDS), which contains anonymous case records of self-reported information collected from callers during exposure control and informational calls about managed poisoning by the country's poison control centers (PCC). Some preliminary research supports the claim that delta-8 could cause a milder high than traditional marijuana. However, because the drug is not regulated, the vast majority of delta-8 products on the market do not look like those tested in a laboratory and may be contaminated with other cannabinoids and heavy metals. As a result, many experts advise against using it.

There is little research on this component of cannabis. A 1973 study found that the effects of delta-8 THC mimicked those of THC, but were not as intense. Another, published in 1995, suggested that delta-8 THC could be used as a therapeutic treatment for the adverse effects of chemotherapy. Hemp and marijuana are two types of cannabis plants, but marijuana produces delta-9-THC and hemp doesn't.

Just because 60 mg of delta 8 THC gummies produce stronger results doesn't mean you have a better, more pleasant experience, and higher doses can cause unwanted side effects. Recent warnings from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Food and Drug Administration say that delta-8 is a potentially dangerous drug that has caused thousands of accidental poisonings. The experts he consulted suggested that the main risk factor could come from untested and unlicensed THC delta-8 vape cartridges purchased on the unregulated market. They offer several different versions of their delta 8 gummies, along with a large number of other cannabinoid gummy products, such as CBG gummies, THC delta 9 gummies (derived from hemp) and THC-O gummies.

If you've consumed Delta 8 THC in the company of your friends and they're still there when you suddenly feel like you're overdoing it, be sure to tell them how you feel. Delta-8 users report many of the same effects as THC, such as mild euphoria, happiness, stimulating sensations and relief from some symptoms, such as pain, although the compound is much less potent. In other words, you can use Delta 8 THC to reduce pain, nausea and vomiting, protect nerve cells and restore a healthy appetite. Now that you're anxious to get on the road to understanding Delta 8 THC's effects on your body, it's important to remember that each person's experience will be different depending on their individual body chemistry.

Each potent gummy contains 25 mg of delta 8 THC, a higher dose than recommended for beginners, so divide a gummy in half if necessary.
