THC-O, also known as tetrahydrocannabinol-O-acetate, is a cannabinoid found in hemp plants. It has a chemical structure similar to the THC Delta 9 found in Cannabis Sativa plants, and interacts with the endocannabinoid receptors CB1 and CB2. THC-O is approximately three times more potent than THC Delta 9, and produces a psychedelic experience that is much more intense than other forms of THC. THC-O helps promote the production of GABA in the body, which slows down nerve impulses and induces feelings of well-being and sleepiness. It is nicknamed “the spiritual cannabinoid” for its ability to produce a unique psychoactive effect that goes beyond the typical THC high.
This effect includes feeling laughing, sleepy, and introspective. Delta 8 THC has a similar intense effect, but is much milder. It is one of the latest cannabinoids derived from hemp to appear on the legal THC market, and it interacts with the endocannabinoid system at almost three times the rate of traditional THC products. The general consensus is that THC-O is approximately three times stronger than THC Delta 9, so the dose would be approximately one-third of what would normally be taken when using normal THC products.
